Kyrene Family Resource Center (KFRC)
The Kyrene Family Resource Center provides an opportunity for students and families to have access to needed assistance and resources, in order to meet their basic and extended needs (food, clothing, shelter resources, medical support, legal support, resource referral, etc.). By raising awareness and providing connections to educational opportunities in the community, the KFRC encourages and supports families, and emphasizes the importance of parental involvement in their children’s education. The KFRC is located at Kyrene de los Ninos Elementary School, 1330 East Dava Dr., Tempe.

New Teacher Mini-Grant Program
Many new teachers arrive in Kyrene without the resources to ensure that their classrooms have the supplies necessary for an entire year of teaching. Limited school funding does not allow Kyrene to provide beyond the minimum for classroom materials and supplies. The result—teachers take money out of their own pocket for supplies and resources for their classrooms. Each year the Foundation strives to raise funds to provide new teachers with assistance in this area.

Employee Recognition
Our teachers and staff spend more time with our children than anyone else. Through the outstanding efforts of our teachers, and the District staff, our children are provided the opportunity to receive an excellent education, as well as the sound support needed to launch them into years of learning and growing. The Foundation sponsors a celebration each year that recognizes the true heroes and heroines in our community by recognizing staff who have dedicated 15, 20, 25 and 30 years to Kyrene as well as those who are retiring from Kyrene.

Tempe Schools Credit Union Employees of the Year
In 2007, Tempe Schools Credit Union initiated sponsorship of several annual awards, including Teacher of the Year, Support Staff Person of the Year and Administrator of the Year. We welcome any business to contact us at the Kyrene Schools Community Foundation to develop other recognitions for our hard-working Kyrene School District Employees.

Slater-Newman Student Scholarships
Each year Kyrene Schools Community Foundation awards twelve $50.00 scholarships to outstanding 8th graders who go above and beyond in the area of community service. These students have begun to adopt a sense of community by not only excelling in their academic endeavors, but also by finding the time to give back to their community.

Partner Program
The Kyrene Schools Community Foundation values the contributions of our financial supporters. Each corporate partner receives public recognition based on its level of contribution, providing an opportunity to reach thousands of individuals throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. Public recognition vehicles include, but are not limited to, the following:
» Kyrene publications
» Ads and signage
» Special events
» Press releases

The Kyrene Schools Community Foundation is looking for individuals, corporations, and organizations to partner with the Foundation in some ambitious fund-raising projects for the coming year. Whether you would like to contribute as a volunteer, donor, corporate sponsor, committee member, or Board member, your help will directly support students, teachers, and schools throughout the Kyrene School District.
