Needs may vary but our community never wavers.
Winter Wonderland 2021 was a success due to a tremendous outpouring of generosity from our community. The Kyrene Foundation in partnership with the Kyrene District, was able to ensure over 200 families’ basic needs were met, and 700 children did not go without the simple joy of a gift during the holiday season.
Again this year the pandemic pushed us to discover new ways to support these families, while maintaining the health and safety of our community. This year’s event was again a drive-through event, where Basha’s, Walmart & Target gift cards, food boxes from Midwest Food Bank and a laptop from School Connect was provided to each of the families in a safe and socially distant way.
A huge thank you to all who donated, shared information, and volunteered. Jody Jackson-Ackerley, from Bally Sports Arizona, was instrumental in getting the message out to the community and our Kyrene schools were amazing supporters. Thank you as always Altadena, Traditional, as well all the other Kyrene schools and education associations who contributed. An extra special thank you goes out to Sun Valley Church – Tempe, for providing the great location, weather, coordination with The Midwest Food Bank and volunteers.
You play a vital role in the success. Please accept our sincerest appreciation and gratitude for your support. We look forward to 2022 and for our community to continue to engage with the Kyrene Foundation.
